About this opportunity

Slaughter and May runs three Summer Work Experience Schemes at its London office. Participants sit within a legal group, complete hands-on legal work and research, and take part in training, workshops, interactive case studies and networking activities. Each participant is supported by a trainee solicitor and receives £550 per week. The firm can also cover accommodation for participants relocating to London. The dates of the 2027 schemes are yet to be confirmed.

Who is it for?

Penultimate-year university students, second-year students on a four-year degree who will spend their third year abroad, and first-year students undertaking a two-year accelerated law degree. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

What you will gain

Hands-on commercial legal experience, legal research skills, training and workshops, networking with lawyers, support from a trainee solicitor and an opportunity to interview for a training contract. Participants receive £550 per week, with additional accommodation and clothing support available where required.
