About this opportunity
Reed Smith will offer Winter and Spring Vacation Schemes in London during 2027. Participants join a preferred practice or industry group, work on live projects under an experienced supervisor and receive support from a trainee buddy. The programme also includes legal and business-skills workshops, networking, social activities, a group exercise and a final interview. Exact 2027 scheme dates have not yet been published.
Who is it for?
Law students from their penultimate year onwards, non-law students from their final year onwards and graduates. Candidates without previous legal work experience may apply, and visa sponsorship is available to successful candidates where required.
What you will gain
Live legal experience within a practice or industry group, supervision and feedback, a trainee buddy, professional workshops, networking opportunities and assessment for a future Reed Smith training contract. Participants receive the London Living Wage, while eligible candidates based outside London receive a travel and accommodation grant.

Requirements
Applicants should have achieved, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent. Reed Smith looks for teamwork, research and analysis, organisation, time management, communication and self-reflection. Mitigating circumstances are considered.

Complete an online application form followed by an untimed assessment covering situational judgement and verbal and numerical reasoning. Successful applicants answer written motivational questions, complete an on-demand strengths-based video interview and attend an assessment centre involving a case-study interview. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis.
