About this opportunity

Mayer Brown’s Summer Vacation Scheme runs from 21 June to 2 July 2027 in London. Participants gain practical experience by assisting lawyers with real deals, learning about the firm’s practice areas, business functions, infrastructure and culture. The programme combines legal work with professional-skills sessions, social activities and opportunities to establish relationships with trainees and experienced lawyers across the firm.

Who is it for?

Law and non-law undergraduate students and graduates who are interested in experiencing commercial legal work at an international law firm.

What you will gain

Practical experience on real matters, insight into Mayer Brown’s practices and business, professional-skills development, networking and social opportunities. Participants receive £650 per week, an additional £100 per week towards travel expenses and an allowance for food and drink in the firm’s canteen.

Legal work experience is not required. Applicants should demonstrate relevant transferable skills through their education, employment, extracurricular activities and other experiences. Candidates should show reasoning ability, sound judgement, motivation, communication skills and potential to succeed at Mayer Brown.

How to apply

Submit an online application containing personal, educational and work-experience information. Applicants then complete an immersive assessment containing behavioural, reasoning and video questions. Those meeting the required benchmarks are invited to a London assessment day involving group and individual exercises. Vacation Scheme assessment centres take place during January and February.
