About this opportunity
Pathways to Law is an 18-month programme run by LSE in partnership with the Sutton Trust, designed for sixth form and college students (Years 12–13) who live within commuting distance of LSE. It features a mix of online and in-person activities, including legal lectures, university application advice, wellbeing support, a residential national conference at University of Warwick, networking, employability activities, work placements, and ongoing mentoring from current LSE law students. The programme is free, with travel and some subsistence expenses reimbursed.
Who is it for?
Year 12 students studying at a state-funded, non-fee-paying school/college, living within 90 minutes commute of LSE, with at least five GCSEs at grades 9–6 (including English and Maths, with two at 9–7), currently studying at least two full A-levels or IBDP Higher Levels in academic subjects.
What you will gain
Participants will gain insight into legal careers, university life and study skills, mentoring from law students, networking with legal professionals, job application skills, and opportunities for work experience and a fully funded residential conference.

Requirements
Mandatory: Attend a state-funded, non-fee-paying school/college; in Year 12; live within 90 minutes of LSE. Academic: Minimum five GCSEs at 9–6 (including English and Maths, two at 9–7); currently studying two or more full A-levels or IBDP HLs in academic subjects. Additional widening participation criteria considered; those looked after/in care need only meet mandatory and academic criteria.
