About this opportunity
Cooley’s two-week London spring and summer programmes provide insight into the firm’s work for entrepreneurs, investors, technology companies, life sciences businesses and other innovative clients. Participants contribute to meaningful work, attend professional-development sessions and connect with lawyers through assignments and social events. Each participant receives support from a programme mentor, trainee buddy and members of Cooley’s legal talent team. Participants are considered for Cooley’s six annual trainee solicitor places.
Who is it for?
Penultimate-year law students, final-year non-law students, graduates, postgraduates and career changers who are eligible to apply for a future Cooley training contract.
What you will gain
Two weeks of paid legal work experience, meaningful work assignments, professional-development sessions, networking opportunities, a programme mentor, a trainee buddy and consideration for a Cooley training contract. Cooley currently advertises programme pay of £550 per week and free lunch in its on-site café.

Requirements
Applicants should have or be predicted at least a 2:1 degree in any discipline and 128 UCAS points or equivalent, excluding AS levels and General Studies. Cooley considers applicants with clear mitigating circumstances. Candidates should demonstrate motivation, initiative, adaptability, communication, collaboration, inclusivity, leadership and a willingness to take responsibility.
