About this opportunity

3VB’s mini-pupillage is an assessed two-day experience and forms an essential part of its pupillage recruitment process. Mini-pupils sit with a barrister, observe and discuss aspects of their work, and complete a short assessed written exercise on the second day. The scheme is normally in person, with virtual options available in some circumstances, such as for candidates based overseas.

Who is it for?

Candidates interested in applying for pupillage at 3VB and pursuing a career at the Commercial Bar. Applicants should generally apply in the year they intend to apply for full pupillage.

What you will gain

Insight into commercial barristers’ work, experience of chambers life, contact with a supervisor, feedback on oral and written skills, and an assessed mini-pupillage record that can be considered in the 2027 pupillage recruitment cycle.

Email a CV, covering letter and optional equality and diversity monitoring form to minipupillage@3vb.com. The CV should include a full breakdown of university examination results to date.
