About this opportunity

Amazon’s 2027 Software Development Engineer Internship is a full-time, office-based programme available in London and Cambridge. Interns will work with experienced professionals to design, build, deploy and operate scalable products and services. Responsibilities may include solving complex technical problems, writing maintainable code, contributing to code reviews, producing technical documentation, using AI-assisted development tools and supporting live systems. Interns typically work Monday to Friday for up to 40 hours per week and must be available without conflicting classes or employment.

Who is it for?

The internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering or a related subject. Applicants must have at least one academic quarter, semester or trimester remaining after the internship ends.

What you will gain

You will gain practical software-engineering experience by owning a real project from design through deployment and ongoing operation. You will develop skills in scalable systems, code reviews, technical documentation, continuous integration and deployment, troubleshooting and the responsible use of generative AI tools. Interns receive support from a manager and mentor, access to learning sessions, networking and social activities, a competitive monthly salary, relocation support and employee benefits. Successful interns may also be considered for a graduate role or another internship.
