About this opportunity
As London’s leading criminal defence chambers, 25 Bedford Row offers one-week mini-pupillages throughout the year (except August and Christmas), where mini-pupils shadow barristers in the Crown or Magistrates’ Court. Mini-pupillage is unpaid and travel/expenses are not reimbursed. Applications received between 1 June 2026 and 18 September 2026 are considered for placements between 1 December 2026 and 31 May 2027.

Aspiring barristers, aged 18 or over at the time of placement, interested in a career in criminal law.
What you will gain
First-hand experience shadowing barristers in court, insight into criminal defence practice, potential for references, and understanding of the legal profession.

Requirements
Applicants must be 18 or over at the time of the mini-pupillage. Priority is given to those demonstrating commitment to a career in criminal law and clear, concise application writing.
