Oriel College’s Crescendo Programme, organised with Oxford’s Music Faculty, is a free online series running from September to November 2026 for UK state school students in Years 10-13 interested in university Music studies. Sessions cover a range of music scholarship topics, with academics presenting on subjects such as 19th-century musicking, film music, lost voices, classical music under authoritarianism, and university essay writing. Eligible Year 12 students can also participate in a 1000-word essay-writing component and discuss their work in an Oxford-style online tutorial.

Must be a UK state school student in Years 10-13 (or equivalent) to attend. Year 12 (or equivalent) students are eligible for the essay-writing component.
